6 degrees of separation-Flavor Bouncing

I came across this video via Mike Ruhlman’s blog. It’s a great illustration of how to conceptualize a new dish. As much fun as it is to cook something out of a cookbook, it’s even more rewarding to create it on your own. Flavors build based on relation, sort of like the Kevin Bacon game. And is it any coincidence that Achatz says this?

“Does beer go with bacon? Well, everything goes with bacon, so of course, beer goes with bacon.”
